Hi today I want to talk to you about when you buy a hand-knotted rug what is the most important thing? it is the price and the price depends on the knot-count if the knot count is high then the price is gonna be more expensive if the knot count is lower the price is gonna be lower it’s like buying a diamond ring if it’s a three carat ring it’s gonna be more expensive if it’s a one carat ring it’s gonna be less expensive the other thing to look at is if you look at the back of the rug and you can take the ruler and you can measure the knot counts it’s very important most of the Persian rugs are about 16/18 quality they are the most expensive ones and if it’s a 9/9 quality or a 10/10 quality rug again they are going to be more expensive then let’s say a 5/5 quality rug the other important thing to look at is the back of the rug the higher quality rugs are tightly knotted so they’re going to look kind of similar when you have the front of the rug and the back of the rug but compared to the lower quality that which is a 5/5 quality though that knot count is gonna be a little bit less tight so it’s very important when you’re looking at a rug to look at the knot count because it’s going to decide the price of the rug.  check our shop Page
